AHC Day 17!

It’s Friday….and really, that is all that is needed to be a happy day.

I’m also happy that our team won at trivia last night…including winning the best name contest.  I’m happy that I didn’t get stupid drunk, which would result in me feeling like poop today (although it might have ‘helped’ me make out with the young lifeguard boy I was chatting with).

So there you have it.

AHC Day 16!

This morning, when I got into my no longer over heating car–THANK YOU JOHNNY @ AMERICAN AUTOCARE!!–the frist song I heard was “Heavenly Day” by Patty Griffin.

If that song doesn’t make you happy, well, that sucks for you.  It’s one of my favorite songs of all time and I have had multiple dreams where it was the song at my wedding.  One involved me marrying two brothers…..but that’s a story for another day.

Oh heavenly day, all the clouds blew away
Got no trouble today with anyone
The smile on your face I live only to see
It’s enough for me, baby, it’s enough for me
Oh, heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day

Tomorrow may rain with sorrow
Here’s a little time we can borrow
Forget all our troubles in these moments so few
All we’ve got right now, the only thing that
All we really have to do
Is have ourselves a heavenly day
Lay here and watch the trees sway
Oh, can’t see no other way, no way, no way
Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day

No one at my shoulder bringing me fears
Got no clouds up above me bringing me tears
Got nothing to tell you, I’ve got nothing much to say
Only I’m glad to be here with you
On this heavenly, heavenly, heavenly, heavenly
Heavenly day, all the trouble’s gone away
Oh, for a while anyway, for a while anyway
Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day

Deep sigh…..

AHC Day 15!

Well, this site makes me happy.

I don’t know if I’m happy knowing that there is technology out there that can make photos of me look that much better or that the celebrity photos that I see are not even close to reality in some cases.

Check out the portfolio. I don’t know why they did so much to Kelly Clarkson..I love her.

AHC Day 13! (part deux)

Since I skipped this weekend on the August Happiness Challenge, I’ll give today another hit.

A new season of “The Hills” starts tonight.  I would call it a guilty pleasure if I considered guilt possible in any situation where I keep all my clothes on and/or there is no physical harm done to others. I love the snarky girls and taking all my anger in the world out on HORRIBLE Spencer and his nasty face.  Good clean American fun.

AHC Day 10!

I’m all about the band Stars these days.  Their music is theatrical and lyrical and smart.  All good things in my book.  This song, while seemingly a downer, makes me happy.  I’m all about the songs that acknowledge the hurt and sadness, but still have some hope.

I’m a sap.

I have also succumbed to the river disease I’ve been fighting all week and am convinced I have a fever.  Nope, not happy about that, but feel it should be noted.

AHC Day 9

I was cleaning my bathroom the other day and came across a little tube of lipgloss that I had never used.  It was part of a sampler pack that a friend had received in a goody bag at a party.  It seemed so bright.  It was an orangey red looking color, but very sheer in the tube.  It was late, I wasn’t going out, I tried it on.  It changed my life.  For months I have been looking for a nice gloss that gave me some color on my very neutral lips and had a nice pink tint of spring.

Dewy Jube Lipgelee by MAC is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

AHC Day 8

Sometimes all you need is a rousing song from a Broadway musical to make ya happy.  Well, at least I do. Yet another reason gay boys love me.

“Defying Gravity” from Wicked just shuffled up on my iPod and it’s simply lovely.

 Come on now:

Ev’ryone deserves the chance to fly
And if I’m flying solo
At least I’m flying free

Listen to that an try to NOT be happy.  Seriously.

Yes, I saw this show on Broadway and it was one of the most wonderful things I have ever witnessed. Once Harry Potter is done, I’m reading the book.

AHC Day 7

I gotta post this quick because I am in a mood and all ideas of happiness may be gone soon.

Oat Cluster Cheerio Crunch cereal is a lovely thing!  So new that it isn’t on the Cheerios website. So tasty that, well, it’s tasty. It’s like a combination of Cheerios (a classic) Honey Bunches of Oats (a slightly sweeter treat) with added cinnamon.  Good stuff.

That’s all I got.  It’s too dang hot to be too happy.
